In February 2017 AIEF established a QLD team to support the state’s large cohort of AIEF Scholarship Students and Graduates, who previously received support from the AIEF team in Sydney.

The team was established after a review conducted by a group of five representatives from AIEF Corporate Partner SAP, as part of a Social Sabbatical at AIEF. The sabbatical team evaluated AIEF’s delivery model and made several recommendations to make it more effective and sustainable. One of these recommendations was to open an office in QLD.

In order for AIEF to establish a QLD office in fewer than six months, SAP offered to host a team of eight within their offices. The Brisbane office ‘opened’ on 13 February with a warm welcome from SAP.

The new Brisbane team are making good use of the facilities provided at SAP and are enjoying the welcoming environment and opportunities to connect with the SAP team in Brisbane.

Approximately half of the over 500 students and 400 graduates supported by AIEF are based in QLD, and the new Brisbane team will be able to support these students and graduates directly.
