From 27 to 31 March, AIEF
students in Years 11 and 12 travelled to
Canberra for the Work Experience in Government (WEX) Program, which aims to provide Indigenous students with hands on
experience and information about job opportunities and career pathways in the
Australian Government.
Throughout the week students had
the opportunity to meet with Senator Pat Dodson, Senator Nigel Scullion and
Senator Malarndirri McCarthy. They also participated in a number of
activities including visits to the Australian War Memorial, Parliament House,
the Australian Defence Force Academy, Australian Federal Police and the
Aboriginal Tent Embassy.
