St Joseph’s Nudgee College

We are grateful that AIEF collaborates with corporate partners to provide work experience opportunities and internships for our students.  This networking is only made possible by the strong partnership AIEF has with its stakeholders which in turn benefits the students.  This allows them to gain practical skills, exposure to different industries and a better understanding of potential career paths.

In partnership with Nudgee College, AIEF assists Indigenous students explore university and vocational education options, provides guidance with application processes, scholarships, and transitioning into higher education or vocational institutions.  Students are also supported on their journey through apprenticeships and traineeships in their chosen fields.

A key highlight for the AIEF Scholarship Students at Nudgee College this year was travelling to Sydney to attend the Year 12 Graduation Ceremony.  This event fostered a sense of pride and connection between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduates throughout Australia who have been on a similar journey.  These events, where achievement is celebrated, enhance the student’s overall well-being and strengthen their sense of identity and pride in their achievements.

AIEF plays a vital role in fostering and nurturing education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at St Joseph’s Nudgee College.  By providing scholarships, financial support, pathways beyond school and community engagement opportunities, AIEF empowers Indigenous students to succeed academically, develop a strong sense of cultural identity and contribute meaningfully to their communities.  The positive impact of AIEF’s support is reflected in the improved educational outcomes and pathways beyond school for Indigenous students at St Joseph’s Nudgee College.

In 2024, Nudgee College looks forward to continuing its partnership with AIEF and fostering the next generation of Indigenous leaders.
