On Sunday 26 October 2014, 40 Year 12 AIEF Scholarship Students gathered for the AIEF Graduation Lunch in Brisbane.
Eight AIEF Partner Schools were represented on the day: St Josephs Nudgee College, St Peters Lutheran College, Marist College Ashgrove, Ipswich Grammar School, St Saviours College and north QLD schools Townsville Grammar School, The Cathedral School and St Augustines College.
The event was an opportunity to celebrate the students amazing achievement in completing secondary school; congratulate the students on their hard work and commitment; and for AIEF to reinforce its support and commitment to the students in helping them pursue their education and achieve their goals.
AIEF Student Support Executives Anna Mackiewicz and Natalie Brosnan addressed the students, congratulating them on their achievements so far. AIEF Alumni Jemmason Power and Robert Thatcher spoke about their own journeys and offered insights into life after school. AIEF Transition Support Manager Tamara Salamacha also congratulated the students, offering words of encouragement before presenting each student with a graduation certificate.
Student representatives Adimin and Phillip delivered inspirational speeches, reflecting on their journey through school andtheir plans for the future.
Seven AIEF Mentors attended the lunch and were each presented with a gift from their students, who thanked them for their wonderful guidance and support over the years. The students were proud to have their mentors celebrate their graduation with them.
