The AIEF Tertiary Experience Day provides students with information about studying at university and allows them to explore the different universities and residential colleges.

On 28 August 2013, students met college staff from universities in Sydney, including the University of Technology, Sydney, The University of Sydney and The University of New South Wales, who will now be familiar faces when the students apply for scholarship places in the coming weeks. Students also visited the Indigenous units at the universities so they could get a better understanding of the Indigenous support systems on campus. The tour also included several residential colleges: Yura Mudang, UTS residential college; Wesley College; St Andrews College; and Shalom College.

Eight Students from St Vincent’s College Potts Point, Pymble Ladies’ College, Kincoppal-Rose Bay and St Peters Lutheran College, Brisbane attended the day.

One student remarked that it was “so worth it!” and said she now has “lots of information and confidence in applying for residential housing and for campus life”. Another student commented that the day gave her a greater understanding of accommodation options and the pros and cons of living on campus and independently.
