On Wednesday 3 September 2014, 17 students from Year 9 to Year 12 at Aquinas College, Wesley College, Trinity College and Scotch College attended the third BHP Billiton Experience visit in Perth at BHP Billitons city office. The visit began with a welcome from Joshua Cox, Senior Advisor Indigenous Employment at BHP Billiton, who gave an overview of BHP Billiton, the career opportunities available including apprenticeships and school based traineeships and also talked about the variety of tertiary scholarships available. The students then heard from a current graduate on BHP Billitons Graduate Program. The overview was followed by morning tea where students enjoyed the view over Perth and were joined by four AIEF mentors from BHP Billiton. Students were then taken on a tour of the Integrated Remote Operations Centre (IROC) and learnt about the traineeship opportunities with IROC. The tour of IROC concluded the experience visit.
