On 12 February 2016 2010 graduate Neerim Callope attended a breakfast to mark the eighth anniversary of the National Apology to Australia’s First Peoples in Sydney.

Neerim, a University of Melbourne student and one of the first alumni to complete the HSBC Summer Work Placement through AIEF, met former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd; Sky News International Editor and AIEF Ambassador Stan Grant; and Jackie Huggins, Adjunct Professor, Australian Centre for Indigenous History at the Australian National University. He also heard from speakers including Kevin Rudd; Message Stick CEO, Michael McLeod; Uncle Stephen Ridgeway, member of the Board of the Kinchela Boys’ Home Aboriginal Corporation; and NSW Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Leslie Williams.
