On 20 August AIEF Scholarship Students from Partner Schools across Australia attended the Year 12 Learn It! Live It! Work Readiness Workshop at Commonwealth Bank in Sydney.

Students engaged in a series of interactive workshops throughout the day. Representatives from CommBank’s Start Smart program led a financial literacy session on the importance of financial goals, budgeting and saving. A team from AIEF Corporate Partner Allens taught students a variety of job interview techniques. AIEF Alumni Libby Cook-Black (Pymble Ladies’ College, 2011), Dennis Nona Ahmat (The Cathedral School, 2013), Gabrielle Ebsworth (Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, 2015) and Tyrell Douglas (St Joseph’s Nudgee College, 2016) spoke with students about the different career pathways they have taken and the support available from AIEF after graduation.

In the afternoon students heard from AIEF Ambassador, former Senator and Olympian Nova Peris OAM. Nova detailed her career journey and inspired students with her message of strength and resilience.

The Learn It! Live It! Work Readiness Workshop is a great opportunity for students to gain the skills and knowledge they need to make a successful transition from school to careers.
