On 11 June 2013, AIEF invited 20 scholarship students from AIEF Partner Schools Knox Grammar School, The Scots College and Saint Ignatius College, Riverview, to take part in the HSBC Waratahs Free Kick Clinic at Allianz Stadium, hosted by AIEF corporate partner HSBC. The students were treated to a private training session with HSBC Waratahs Head Coach, Michael Cheika and trained alongside several Waratahs players. They were drilled in many different aspects of the game, including exercises to improve their passing and tackling. The students worked hard in the session, motivated by the calibre around them, and each was keen to display their skills and learn from the best. The boys relished the opportunity to meet and train with such renowned and experienced role models. They mixed with players such as Ollie Atkins, Damien Fitzpatrick as well as rugby great George Gregan. Jacob from The Scots College said, it was good to do the same drills that the Waratahs do in their training. For most, meeting the players was the highlight. Others commented that the whole experience was fantastic training at the stadium, learning new skills, chatting to the coach and the players. I think it was great today. It was a good opportunity to meet the fellas and to learn more skills, said Winston from The Scots College.
